Eleni Mccier: Your husband MUST have at least BIPD due to State law. Why the finance company doesn't want to be cocvered is beyond me. He should consider also getting Comp / Collision & Gap insurance for his own well being. Without them, if the bike gets wrecked, he will have to get it repaired out of pocket & if the bike is stolen he will be paying the finance company & he won't have a bike. The gap Insurance will pay any amount owed to the finance company over what the Insurance company pays on the claim....Show more
Shad Bushweller: He is required by state law to have the bike insured. A motorcycle is no different than a car in that regard. The lender is not requiring him to carry insurance as a condition of obtaining the loan.
Rosalyn Olivera: If the motorcycle is going to be used on the road you will need to have insurance for any damage that you could cause to others or their property. But the lender is not requiring insurance on the motorcycle its self.! Or if it will not be used at all you do not need any insurance
