What does my teacher exactly mean if she told us to get 'references' for our argumentative essays?

Olen Penhallurick: references mean where you get your information from.your teacher wants to know the sources you are basing your argument on....did you get your information from a book, online, newspaper, journal, ...? good luck! :)
