Australian Education?

Adrian Sherlin: you have it confused to begin with...primary school is from grades prep (approx 5 years old ) through to grades 7 (In QLD). A public school can be primary school or high school (Secondary school) and is called public because it's government funded. Then there's private schools which the parents pay substantial school fees for their children to attend. Primary school can be public or private

Jerald Florence: Yea, a primary school is K-6, at least in NSW. Not all of them are public, but most are. Private schools cost a lot of money though. Public Schools is the schools that are available to the public. They can be primary schools, high schools, anything like that. The Catholic schools are expensive and I would only go for them if you had plenty of cash and your son was catholic. Other then that I would just go to a public school.

Dick Ovdenk: the curriculum taught at a public or private school is the same. i've never been to private school but i ! have friends who have children attending private schools. the main difference i can see is that the private school has smaller class numbers and you would hang out with children from wealthy families. the school maybe smarter looking and the teachers less stressed. the difference in price can range from public $200 a year, which is not compulsory, to $11,000 for private. that doesn't include uniforms...Show more

Dorine Nurre: well i want to find out what the diffrence between like a catholic school that charges $1000 a year and a public which charges 400 a year
