Idell Syed: they can be time consuming! i love the montessori method. i don't teach in a montessori school, but agree with the teaching and know a good deal about it. in my lessons, i keep a template on the computer of my daily outline. then i type in my lessons in a dark blue (so when it prints in a contrast to the daily routine stuff). it's hard because you have to put in so much individualization for the children and how you're going to be working with them. but i've found that having it on the computer makes my plans go much quicker. i tend to plan for 2-3 days at a time. it works out well because then the plans can easily build on child interest and needs.
Alisia Sutphen: I began teaching my child as an infant. It fascinated me the way his mind worked. He is 10 now and 2 grades ahead in most areas, (h.s. and college in a few). We have always used a Montessori type method, (yes you can do this even if your not a homeschooler). Infants are born with an inna! te understanding of, believe it or not, physics, (what goes up, must come down), math, timbre and dialect of languages, and an understanding of several aspects of their environment. That's why kids have to feel, taste touch and see everything around them...and they do, lol! It should be nurtured and preserved. Many times it gets lost in daily activities and traditional schooling. We have incorporated this method into upper grades as well. Critical thinking must be continued as well as free exploration and inquiry. Freedom type learning is essential if a child will grow and succeed in the world, which is not a 2 dimensional space. You can incorporate upper grade and middle school requirements into this by expanding on the Mont. method. Yes, you can learn Shakespeare from this method, mine has and has retained it. I would suggest two things for you to google: Rube Goldberg contraptions (Purdue U holds a competition on this if you cant find it) and Peter Grey, a professo! r at Brown and an editor for Psychology Today Online, he has w! ritten some very insightful articles on this. The methods in question will need to be changed as learning becomes more demanding, but it should never be lost. Even traditional schooled children can be followed carefully by their parents and expand on important areas they are learning. At the very least, a million critical thinking games are found online for free...Smithsonian, Nat. Geo, BBC... As parents WE are their headmasters, don't let that ever change.
Joellen Zorrilla: i think as a nation-wide requirement you have to some form of high school diploma [[ged or otherwise]] and an associates degree [[2 years]] in early childhood education. you can get this from most community colleges and universities
Donte Hamme: My dad and mom owned a preschool for over 10 years and that they appeared for outgoing persons that dressed comfortably and weren't approximately highend trend. hear to "i hate dr. phil's" reaction. She's maximum appropriate in stating to positio! ned on residences and no low cut back tops. dress in slacks, collared blouse and delicate footwear. and surely convey supplies and suggestions you may desire to instruct those young babies. As for questions, be arranged to respond to questions like: a million. How long have you ever been coaching? 2. What do you rejoice with approximately coaching? 3. have you ever effectively potty-experienced babies? 4. How could you take care of an offended confirm? 5. How could you take care of two young babies struggling with? 6. If somebody different than the confirm got here to p.c.. up a baby what could you do? those are in basic terms some. i'm going to respond to them for you. a million. it particularly is your opinion. i'm optimistic you may answer that particularly 2. comparable with this one. 3. back, comparable. 4. coping with an offended confirm is confusing on condition which you have in no way executed so. If the director is accessible, continually tell the confirm that the! y are in a position to talk with them. in no way become in touch, becau! se of the fact it is not your place, and it particularly is maximum suitable dealt with with the help of greater administration. 5. Separate the two and communicate to them in my view. you in all hazard comprehend the answer to this besides. 6. If somebody different than the confirm comes, the faculty normally has a catalogue of names the dad and mom depart in case of an emergency. First touch the director. in the event that they do no longer seem to be there, then call the confirm to substantiate pickup. i actually desire this helped. :) And good success!!...Show more
Shaquita Wernicki: We are debating whether to just send our kids to Pre-K and K for Montessori or starting them at a Montessori school that goes all the way through 8th grade. Thing is, the Pre-K and K only are closer to our home, and if we decide not to send them all the way through elementary, it's kind of a waste to go to the one that's farther (the Pre-K through 8th). Any advice would be helpful..! .thanks! I know this sounds confusing, so if you need clarification, just let me know -- thanks!
Danica Timperman: it would be up to the school that she wants to teach at, but I assure you, you are probably correct.
Derrick Cacioppo: Try some of thesehttp://www.abcya.com/kids_typing_game.htmhttp://www.2flashgames.com/f/f-Letters-Game--1828....http://www.typinggames.biz/index.php?act=play&id=7...Hope I gave you what you are looking for :)
Derrick Smsith: Oh I think you need to go to college and get a degree in early childhood development
Lindsey Zanardi: Yes, but you need to pass you will need to complete and pass a teacher education. It also depends on what grade level you want to teach.
Oren Eskelsen: I am a preschool teacher in Florida. You do need your GED and 12-24 hours (depends on the county!) of higher education in specific disciplines in early childhood education. You do not need a college degree as some have mentioned. I encourage ! it , but it is not required. You can be an aide without a GED or diplo! ma in some settings but not a teacher. The specific information you seek would be found at your counties child licensing department. I live in Escambia County in the panhandle. Good Luck...Show more
Buster Exline: honestly i would hope that you need more than a GED but i cant imagine them not requiring at least that
Lindsey Zanardi: To be a licensed pre-school teacher, your friend will need her GED and some higher education as well. If she wants to start a career, she needs to take care of her education first.
August Hubbard:
Bo Perham: tell her to go back to school and get a stinkin HS diploma...its pathetic not to have one, and shes never going to get anywhere with out it!
Burt Cheevers: You need a COLLEGE DEGREE to become a preschool teacher, not just a GED or high school diploma.
Galen Gowers: uhhh u should
Jed Porada: I don't quite know what your exact system is. What you might want to do is something like this.Have 3 diff! erent colors of paper with the children's names printed in them. You can use a grid or some other format, depending on how to fit them all on the paper. One color indicates observation notes of what you see the child doing.Another color indicates what you think the child is ready for next.Another color indicates problems you have seen so you can go back and work on what to re-show the child. (Example: Child did 45 bead layout, but miscounted several times because he had trouble with 1:1 correspondence. Invite him to do the red rods sometime.)
Heidy Fujikake: Is there a kids flash game where it asks them to find a letter on the keyboard, and they type it, or they type a letter and it says it?For a kid, obviously.
Luther Plagmann: I hope they at least require that!
Coleen Carignan: even if the law doesnt say that im sure no place would hire anyone without a diploma to be a preschool teacher...i think you even need a degree...maybe she could be a helper bu! t that at most.
Ronnie Sardi: I don't like to write out full work! plans for each week, either. Instead, I have a general outline for the week. For example, MWF are days to focus on language lessons and TR are days to focus on math lessons. Then I pick at least one other area for each day of the week. I keep a list on the board of activities for the children to follow on a daily basis. They know what their latest lessons have been, and I keep track of what they choose to work on. There are also the daily lessons. Every day, I choose a sound basket to use with the "sound songs" and ASL alphabet. Every day, I play a sound matching game with cards. The children who attend these open lessons may vary every day, but the children like them so much that they make a point of coming over at least once or twice a week to each lesson. This is the first year that I have gone to such a plan, as this year's Kindergarten group as a whole is less intrinsically motivated than other years. What I have found in the last two weeks is that they are st! arting to visit all areas of the classroom with more regularity. Granted, it isn't necessarily on the same day that I request a certain area. For example, if I put up "Sensorial" on Tuesday, they won't go to it until Wednesday. That is just their way of controlling their own choices, and I don't care because I know they will get to it.Another thing is to make a list of only the most important lessons that you must get to each week. Other lessons then can be done as each opportunity presents itself. Remember, the curriculum is supposed to be relatively child-directed.I also make notes of needed lessons as I record the activities the children are doing each day. I may notice that a child has been ignoring the math area, so I will initiate a lesson in that area. But if she is rapidly moving on in language, I will also follow her needs there and do more lessons there. With some experimentation in different techniques and practice, it will get easier.
