Dalila Yoon: I am an American who loves to vacation in Ireland. I pack only a backpack for a three week vacation, so I do laundry, usually at the youth hostels where I stay. But I have also used the laundry services available in town. It is important to remember that in Ireland the laundry service sometimes closes around 5 or 6pm and is often closed on Sunday. It is sometimes a family run business where someone does the laundry for you. It costs about the same as a similar service in the US, but the Dollar/Euro exchange rate affects everything...so it won't be cheap this year....Show more
Travis Colomb: Most B&B's do have laundry, for a fee. Usually not much. Most cities do have a laundromat and if you need help finding it most of the owners at B&B's have local area maps and can give directions. Some of the smaller town might not have a laundomat but most will have a place where you can drop of your dirty clothes and have the attendent wash, dry, and fold them.! Very nice for a tourist on the run who wants to see everything they can.
Gale Hartt: hi there are a lot of Laundromats in Ireland in the cities you will have to check with each b+b will they do it for you you may fine that some will and some wont and as far the issue with the infant in B+Bs there should not be an issue but it would be safer to check when your booking one just to make sure
Jade Ohno: Family-run B&Bs especially are likely to be helpful in this regard. There are also laundromats in the towns and cities, so don't worry about that. I don't know about young children in B&Bs, it's best to ask them first before actually making the booking, as some places are very near pubs, etc., and the child could be disturbed by the sounds of drunken people coming in at night. Tourists, you know?...Show more
Danica Timperman: No.....we wash our clothes in the streams running past our farms with old fashioned washboards!.......Yes....there are launderettes in p! lenty of places and your B & B will most likely have washing f! acilities!
Mitsuko Manne: P.S. I did not mean to offend anyone with my question. I really am just trying to prepare. If you asked me about laundry in my location, I would say that it is somewhat difficult to find. Since everyone has facilities at home, laundromats may not be in every location and may be located in "seedy" areas. Drycleaners (which wash for you) are pretty expensive, thus not what a tourist with a family would be looking for. I wanted to know if it was the same in Ireland.High-end hotels usually only have the cleaning service (expensive), while low-moderate hotels usually have pay machines ($2 per load). Since a B&B is someone's home, I was not sure if they would "share" their facilities...Thank you for your helpful answers....Show more
